To make it easier to park in Milan we offer various payment options for parking in areas marked by blue lines: the Gratta e Sosta Parking Scratchcard, electronic payment cards, SostaMilano SMS and 24 Parking Meters in the historic centre..
In parking lots you can pay at the ticket machines or approach a member of our staff. We also offer weekly and yearly passes, reserved for customers already in possession of an ATM travel card or the Itinero card.

Gratta e Sosta Parking Scratchcards

These are paper tickets available in a range of formats for each of the areas with metered parking. Scratch the surface of the card to show the time when you parked your car (year, month, day, hour and minutes). These tickets must be displayed clearly on your dashboard until you leave the parking area.

Electronic Payment Cards

These are electronic tickets which must be activated when you park and deactivated when you leave. Electronic cards have a stored value of € 100 and allow you to pay for the exact amount of time you park, from a minimum of 30 minutes. Electronic payment cards must also be displayed clearly on your dashboard until you leave the parking area.

Sosta Milano SMS

The parking areas where the SostaMilanoSMS system can be used all have a four-figure parking area code (e.g. J033) which can be found on the vertical signs for each parking area near the blue lines.
To use the service you need to purchase a SostaMilanoSMS card worth € 10, € 30 or € 50 online; the sticker to display on your car dashboard will be sent to you at home. You must then activate the card with your personal details (licence plate number, your name and address so we can bill you and send tax receipts to your home). During the registration process you will be supplied with a PIN portfolio and a password: please store them with care because you will need these codes to manage all SostaMilanoSMS activities and services, by phone or over the internet.

The card is a rechargeable stored value card: every time you send a text message to communicate the time you park and leave the parking area the cost of parking will be deducted from your total credit.
